I work Mondays to Fridays (3 days within school hours, 2 longer days) term time only.

This is a 15 minute consultation with myself to discuss your concerns and so I can give you immediate advice over the phone. It can be used to discuss my services in greater detail and to decide if an assessment may be required and if I feel I can meet the needs of your child.

This is a one hour appointment that will include a 1:1 assessment with your child and a discussion about the findings of the assessment with advice on how to support your child further. You will be asked to complete a pre-assessment questionnaire prior to the appointment so that the session can be planned to meet your child’s specific needs. The assessment may use formal or informal resources (or a mixture of both) depending on the age and needs of your child. At the end of the assessment, I will provide you with my recommendations on if your child requires further intervention and this intervention can be planned either in the session or at a later date, depending on what you feel most comfortable with.

An assessment with your child will need to take place before any intervention will begin. Your child will be set some goals that have been jointly agreed and set with the parents/carers and, if appropriate, educational staff/other professionals. I will deliver a range of activities that will address these goals. Within each session, there will be time to discuss your child’s progress, to talk through any queries and to review the goals. Goals will be tracked at the end of each block of intervention and updated as necessary.

Reports can be written at any stage and will be made available on request from parents/carers. These will outline your child’s speech, language and communication development and will give recommendations on how to further support your child’s development. These can be shared with educational settings or other professionals on request from the parents/carers.

Programmes can be written at any stage and will be made available on request from parents/carers. These will outline your child’s current goals and will give recommendations on how to support your child to achieve those goals. These can be shared with educational settings to other professionals on request from the parents/carers.

Your child will have required a minimum of one assessment session prior to writing an EHCP report. The report will be written at the request of the parents/carers once they have got to the stage in the EHCP process where a report is required to be written. This will outline your child’s current development and implications of this in their educational environment. It will give information about what strategies and support your child will require to access their education.

Your child will need to be known to the therapist and had a minimum of one assessment in order for their needs to be represented at any meetings. The therapist can attend professional meetings as required.

Costs of any resources provided will be discussed on an individual basis.

Travel within 20 minutes of my business address (DA6) is free of charge and any travel time after this is charged at £1 per minute travelled and is calculated using the AA route planner.
